At the Animal Clinic of Platte County, our patients are seen in the following order: emergencies, appointments, and then walk-ins. We appreciate your understanding that emergency patients sometimes may disrupt our appointment schedule, even though we do "plan" for them throughout the day.
When to Call for Emergency Care
If your pet is experiencing any of the following, please call us right away at (816) 741-8338:
- Difficulty breathing
- Severe bleeding or trauma
- Ingestion of a toxic substance
- Seizures or collapse
- Difficulty giving birth
- Sudden inability to urinate
- Severe vomiting or diarrhea
- Signs of extreme pain

- Keep your pet calm and safe during transport.
- Bring any medications or substances your pet may have ingested.
- Follow our team's instructions over the phone.
We also offer same-day urgent care for many concerns. Call ahead and we'll do our best to see your pet as quickly as possible.
